I’ve Had it! Trump Nominee Barr is Against Marijuana Reform

Against Marijuana Reform

Donald Trump’s out of touch, out of date nominee for Attorney General, William P Barr told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he would not support recreational marijuana, hinting to all that he is likely to continue to the Attorney General office’s anti-marijuana policies. How backwards and how ignorant must our country remain.

I’m tired of the puritanical hypocrites still using the anti-marijuana card while trying to appear more godly than the other snakes in their brood! Sometimes I think we don’t have any hope until these rotten old men finally die off by attrition!

William P Barr reminds me of the recently departed ex-Attorney General Jefferson Beauregard Sessions who once said that he thought the KKK was alright until he found out that many of them smoked pot. So I guess being a racist, violent fascist is better than a pot smoker.

This is not to mention that marijuana has been basically legal to wealthy white people for use recreationally. The evidence is that it has basically been blacks and other minorities who have been hounded and hunted down and prosecuted for smoking weed. This oppression got off the ground with President Richard Nixon and all the other “law and order” Presidents that have followed suit, including President Bill Clinton.

How many times must we say it before it’s fixed? We have more people in jail than any other nation on earth and thousands incarcerated for nonviolent crimes! It is no secret that the Correctional Industrial Complex is getting very rich off (and lobbying for) the irresponsible incarceration of our citizens, minority citizens. The poor can’t afford the cost and time of a decent defense in court and the crippling loss of employment rights for those ensnared.

We continue on despite knowing a large number behind bars have been targeted for being black, latino or even being a poor down-and-out white person. And why? It’s just the old “I’m in charge, you will obey” system of government we have got. These outdated laws are among those designed and supported by the oligarchy that continues to rule over us with a fascist mentality of Christian Corporate Control. If only we had fair elections!

here here! Fortunately though from a legal perspective there isn’t a lot this new jerk A.G. *CAN* do to halt progress as it is in large part a “State’s Rights” issue and you know how much the right love that.
They CAN slow things down federally (particularly w/ regard to banking, interstate commerce, etc) but a reversal would be hard. Or Sessions a-hole would have done it already.
On a similar front – I plan to find out and write how THIS battle is going –
