Ariana Grande revealed on Thursday (Dec. 19) that she had broken the record for voters registered on a tour. “We are excited to announce that @ArianaGrande’s Sweetener World Tour has broken Head Count’s all-time record. With 33,381 voter registrations and actions, it is now the most successful tour in our history,” the voter registration organization revealed in a tweet.
Since 2004, HeadCount says it has registered more than 600,000 voters at concerts, music festivals and online. Grande was super excited about setting the record, shouting out her Arianators for making it happen. “I’m so incredibly proud of my fans for engaging in this. thank u so much for investing in our future and for committing to making a change together,” she said…
In a statement to Billboard, Mollie Farrell, HeadCount’s director of artist relations says the Sweetener tour was the most successful effort in the organization’s 15-year history, and to the best of their knowledge it has registered more voters than any tour in history. “This record breaking success is not just a testament to Ariana’s position as one of the most popular artists in the world, but also to her commitment to encourage our youth to vote,” Farrell says. “Ariana showed so much love on social media and was personally invested in its success. Her family, dancers and support acts stopped by the HeadCount #thankunextgen booth regularly.”
Farrell also thanked Grande’s management firm: “We would also like to thank her management firm, Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, for their deep engagement and dedication to impact and service. We hope that other artists will follow Ariana Grande’s lead and there will be many more successful tours like this in 2020.”
