Syria blasts French ‘immoral’ recognition of opposition

AFP – France’s recognition of a new opposition bloc as the Syrian people’s sole representative was “immoral” and only encourages more destruction, the war-torn country’s deputy foreign minister said Wednesday. In an interview with AFP, Faisal Muqdad also lashed out against the new opposition coalition forged.

French President Francois Hollande will on Saturday meet the new head of Syria’s new opposition National Coalition, Ahmed Moaz al-Khatib, in Paris, his office said. France on Tuesday became the first Western country to recognise the coalition as the sole representative of the Syrian people.
