Chandler Haskins articles

Chandler Haskins was raised in Southeast Ohio. He grew up around animals and even owned two ducks, a rabbit, and a couple of dogs when he was young. He is the middle child. Chandler was raised around lower income families where his family was into rental property. He was given the opportunity to witness poverty first hand and was able to work to help provide people their basic needs with his family. Chandler went to Rock Hill Senior High School where he participated in several student activities from drum major of the marching, being on the school basketball team, and even picking up martial arts his Junior year. During high school he fell in love with politics. However, he was from an extremely conservative area. This is a problem for a rather progressive individual. He graduated as valedictorian of his class and now attends Ohio Wesleyan University studying politics and economics. He reinstated College Democrats, and connected Ohio Wesleyan to the Ohio Democratic Party. While interning with the Ohio Democratic Party as the lead field intern Chandler registered hundreds of individuals to vote before the primaries. After the primaries Chandler continued to register students, but in the summer he was offered the lead campaign position for John Russell for Ohio House after the former campaign manager quit. Chandler recruited several individuals to begin working on the campaign and one week canvassed the most doors out of everyone running for state representative in Ohio. In the fall Chandler began an internship with Congressman Tim Ryan of Ohio. He wants to become a campaign manager or politician in the future.
