Ever since Bruce Rauner won the governorship four years ago it felt like a dark cloud came over and hovered over my being, but thank be to the people of Illinois he lost and Democrat JB Pritzker won. I’m so happy Rauner was such a bad guy we called him “Ruiner” in Illinois. Because of him we did not have a budget for almost two years. Colleges had to lay people off and our state bond rating was downgraded three times. All the while he was trying to make Illinois a ‘right to work’ state as part of his war on unions!
Democrat Tony Evers also won Wisconsin. I’m so very happy because he beat Scott Walker, the puppet of the Koch brothers. This fool Walker actually got married on Ronald Reagan’s birthday to let his constituents know where he was coming from!!!
In addition, Democrat Gretchen Whitmer won Michigan so we now have a blue wall around the Great Lakes! Plus, this year the states will redraw the congressional districts with these new Governors holding court. Therefore: “To the victor go the spoils”!
It was also great to hear Republican Chris Kobach lost his bid for governor of Kansas to Laura Kelly, a Democrat. Kobach was such a evil villain in our democracy. It’s not just his overt racial issues but even more his thwarting of our democratic process by throwing minorities off the voter rolls by deciding on a voter registration process that “they were guilty till proven innocent”. This goon Kobach should still be held responsible for this criminal voter suppression. I for one have not forgotten!!!
These great changes I believe should help our country to overcome Trump and his treacherous policies in 2020. I will be holding my breath along with you till 2020 but for now, thank you for voting.

I’d rather have Democrats than Republicans win elections. I no longer live in Illinois but am glad JB Pritzker is the governor-elect. I wish the media would discuss where 3rd parties stand on the issues so more people will vote them in & the Republicans & Democrats out. Obama was elected to be different from W but turned out to be a lot like him. Rocky Anderson’s name was not on the ballot when I voted in the last two elections.

I’ve been thinking about two strategies, the first is vote for Democrats then hold their feet to the fire. The other is vote for the third party candidates because they are the ones who are really on our side! I agree with you!!!
