Barely two weeks to the midterm elections, there are still cases and allegation of voter suppression in at least six states. Colorado appears to be latest affected. The website run by investigative journalist Greg Palast, author of the New York Times bestsellers Billionaires & Ballot Bandits, Armed Madhouse, and The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, now claims to “hold lists of purged voter registration information on six states, including Colorado”.
Palast has been quick to draw parallels between the new Colorado revelations with the rather notorious case of Georgia. According to Linda Sorauf of Arvada who contacted Colorado Politics on Friday:
“A family member had been notified that day that his name showed up on Palast’s list. She had been reading about the voter purge in Georgia she believed Colorado’s voter registration was pretty accurate. They later checked govotecolorado.com, the Secretary of State’s voter registration website, and verified that his name was still on the voter rolls. The inaccurate information made her mad”.
Whether this information is true or faulty, it is voters of the six alleged states who hold the key to clarify the situation. They can do so by confirming if their names are actually on the official voters lists or not. Get more information here.
