National Voter ID: Report Gives Democracy Activists Guide to Ensuring Voters Have Identification | Democracy, elections and voting at Democracy Chronicles

Once again the Common Cause website has been a great place to news on election reform.  Recently they published a report that acts as a kind of how to book for helping people secure the necessary identification for voting.  The report has a great map that outlines the states that have initiated voter identification laws and plenty of information to get started.

With millions of Americans in danger of being disenfranchised by new and unneeded voter identification laws, Common Cause has joined with Demos, the Fair Elections Legal Network and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law to issue Got ID? Helping Americans Get Voter Identification, a report that outlines how organizations can defend democracy by helping voters secure the necessary ID.

The report draws lessons from programs in Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Colorado and details the best strategies that community groups are using to help voters ensure they’ll be able to vote.
