Egypt’s electoral commission confirmed on Tuesday that a controversial, Islamist-backed constitution was passed by 64 percent of voters, rejecting opposition allegations of polling fraud. Those official results tallied with figures given by President Mohamed Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood immediately.
