5 Things You Should Know about the Elections: Voting requirements and registration deadlines are set up by the states
Voting is a right and a civic responsibility. And like millions of U.S. citizens, you will have the chance to exercise your right to vote during the Presidential Elections. To register to vote in North Carolina you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of North Carolina and your county for 30 days before the election, and at least 18 years old by the next general election and not registered in any other county or state. If you have been convicted of a felony, you must complete all parts of your sentence (including probation and parole) and then citizenship rights are restored and you may register to vote.
