The Occupy Wall Street Movement isn’t dead afterall.
As dusk approached at least 500 people convened at the original birth place of Occupy Wall Street, Liberty Park, also known as Zuccotti Park. After renovations in 2006, the park was renamed by its current owners, Brookfield Office Properties, after company chairman John Zuccotti. In 2011, the plaza became the site of the Occupy Wall Street protest camp, during which activists occupied the plaza and used it as a staging ground for their protests throughout Financial district, Manhattan.
4 YEARS LATER
WHY WE((STILL))OCCUPY
Be it the rent
(which is TOO HIGH)
Be it the wages
( which are TOO LOW)
Be it the police
(who profile and/or brutalize us)
Be it the taxes we pay
(At higher rates than Wall Street)
Be it our buses and subways
(Service Bad yet fares always increasing)
Be it our environment
and genetically modified food
(Polluted and Unhealthy)
Be it politicians
(Who serve the rich but NOT the people!)
WE CAN’T BREATHE!
