Dear Friends and Supporters,
Happy New Year! I’m looking forward to 2014, and I hope you are too. The next election is May 20th, with party primaries for Governor and elections for those key Philadelphia grassroots positions, Committeepeople.
Lots of news here: our campaign office is open! We are excited to be renting space from a fabulous Philadelphian, Andrea Clearfield, whose monthly “salon” concert of new music is a great Philly tradition. The office is at 400 S. Sydenham St., on the corner of Waverly. Hours are irregular right now.
Now that we have a campaign office, we can host volunteers. The immediate goal is to get Philadelphians in the habit of voting. Turnout was larger than expected in November 2013! And Philadelphia voters can and should make a big difference in the gubernatorial election in 2014.
My campaign can help you learn to leverage your particular skills to organize your friends, neighbors, constituents and allies and turn them into SuperVoters. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact David Ralston.
At City Hall, I am busy running non-partisan workshops on how to run for Committeeperson, spreading the message about how larger turnout pulls in more resources (such as school funding), sending along job alerts and collaborating on procedural improvements such as a new guide for poll workers.
Cheers,
City Commissioner of Philadelphia Stephanie Singer
