On the October 22nd, the 92nd Street Y published an engaging interview with the creators of the political thriller TV series House Of Cards. Now famous for the show’s success, actors Robin Wright and Michael Kelly offered an inside look at the landmark Netflix series portraying fiercely ruthless political tactics of a fictional congressman from South Carolina. The show’s executive producers Melissa Gibson and Frank Pugliese also joined the discussion with Hollywood reporter Jackie Strause.
The discussion comes just after news about the final episodes of this famous show were released. The final season will be published on Netflix later this year. According to a recent post at Variety by Debra Birnbaum:
The sixth and final season of “House of Cards” will revolve around Wright’s Claire in the Oval Office, having taken over the reins from her husband, Frank. Kevin Spacey, who played the scheming politician during the first five seasons, was forced off the show late last year amid a cascade of sexual harassment allegations.
The House of Cards series has become one of the most important on television looking at the political challenges of modern America. Questions discussed in this interview include: What are the challenges of portraying the first female President in the wake of the 2016 election?
