When Kremlin critic Alexey Navalny was arrested while returning to Russia last month, crowds came out to protest against the Russian leadership. If the protests were anything to go by, many Russians have been disillusioned and angered by President Vladimir Putin and the economic gloom.

Navalny released a video that claimed a billion-dollar palace on the Black Sea was built for Putin. The Kremlin denied the allegation.
