On Wednesday, February 28th, a distinguished panel held a discussion about the development and importance of international voting rights and the rule of law at Boston’s Northeastern University. The even featured speakers Larry Schwartztol representing the non-profit United to Protect Democracy and Michael Morley, an Assistant Professor of Law at Barry University. Also appearing are Pam Wilmot, the Executive Director of Common Cause Massachusetts, and Senior Fellow at the Harvard Ash Center Miles Rapoport.

The Spring 2018 Open Classroom will explore the definition of the Rule of Law, what it requires, what happens in its absence, and how it has declined and emerged globally. We will also explore some of the tensions between the Rule of Law and Democratic Governance, focusing on the Rule of Law in time of polarization and technological upheaval (as in the United States but also abroad).
