Democracy, elections, and voting at Democracy Chronicles
A great new 45 minute video can be found at the Center for Election Science on the American and Canadian systems of jury voting such as in your average courtroom. Concepts of enhanced election methodology are discussed. From the Center for Election Science:
In this interview, we discuss the concept of a citizen jury as well as its application. To join us, we have two Canadian academics on the subject: Dr. Kalina Kamenova and Dr. Nicole Goodman. A citizen jury is a representative sample of an electorate that is brought together by elected representatives. The jury then deliberates using information provided to them as well as through expert testimony. Finally, the jury delivers an opinion which may or may not be binding. You can also learn about citizen juries at The Jefferson Center.
