NYC 2013 Voter Registration Schedule and Deadlines. (Aug. 16 Deadline)
Via New York State Board of Elections: Important NYC 2013 Deadlines and registration information for this year’s election season.
– The Democratic Primary is on Tuesday, September 10
– Run-off date, if necessary, is Tuesday, October 1
– General Election is Tuesday, November 5
September 10, 2013 Primary Deadlines
August 16 – MAIL REGISTRATION and IN-PERSON REGISTRATION Deadline
– Mailed registration must be postmarked no later than August 16 and received by a board of elections no later than August 21 to be eligible to vote in the Primary.
– In-Person Registration
You may register at your local board of elections or any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act, on any business day throughout the year but, to be eligible to vote in the State and Local Primary, your application must be received no later than August 16.
August 21 – CHANGE of ADDRESS Deadline
– Change of Address Notices of change of address from registered voters received by August 21 by a county board of elections must be processed and entered in the records in time for the State & Local Primary.
November 5, 2013 General Election Deadlines
October 11 – MAIL REGISTRATION and IN-PERSON REGISTRATION Deadline
– Mail Registration applications must be postmarked no later than October 11 and received by a board of elections no later than October 16 to be eligible to vote in the General Election.
– In-Person Registration: You may register at your local board of elections or any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act, on any business day throughout the year but, to be eligible to vote in the November General Election, your application must be received no later than October 11 except, if you have been honorably discharged from the military or have become a naturalized citizen since October 11, you may register in person at the board of elections up until October 25.
