Joe Donohue to Speak at “Law, Money and Politics” Event

Former Star-Ledger journalist Joe Donohue, now deputy director of the NJ Election Law Enforcement Commission, will speak at Hack Jersey’s “Law, Money and Politics” Hack Day at on Saturday, Sept. 21 at NJIT. Donohue will explain how the state’s searchable ELEC database on campaign finance works, and how journalists should be using it.

After obtaining his bachelors of science degree in environmental science at Stockton State College in 1975, NJ native Joe Donohue worked more than 17 years as a science, energy and environment reporter for the Atlantic City Press and the Los Angeles Daily News. He moved to the Star-Ledger in 1991, and his journalism career shifted to coverage of the New Jersey Statehouse with a major focus on the state budget, campaign finance issues and politics.
