Pakistan Shiites demand protection after bombing
AFP – Thousands of Pakistani Shiites refused for a second day Monday to bury victims of a devastating bomb attack on their community, demanding protection against record levels of sectarian violence. Demonstrators poured onto the streets across the country, shutting down the largest city Karachi.
Shi’ites furious over a sectarian bombing that killed 85 people protested on Monday, demanding that security forces protect them from hardline Sunni groups. The attack was near a street market in the southwestern town.
