Pakistan’s former army, ISI chiefs face legal action
AFP – Pakistan’s top court Friday recommended legal proceedings against a former army chief and head of intelligence for allegedly bankrolling politicians to keep the current ruling party from winning the 1990 election. It was a landmark ruling 16 years after retired air marshal Asghar Khan filed a case.
Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani schoolgirl shot in the head by the Taliban, has been able to stand with help for the first time, doctors treating her at a British hospital said Friday. She is unable to talk because a breathing tube has been inserted into her windpipe but she can communicate by writing.
