Protesting Racist Trump and His Media Megaphone

Protest struck on the corner of 56th and 5th Ave yesterday outside Trump Tower where demonstrators had permit to say “NO” to what many felt to be racist remarks from Trump about allowing in refugees.

She spoke about pitying the police who is in the same economic status as her. “I will not forgive them for the violence they perpetuated on my people”.

You don’t do what the candidates are telling us to do, which is More War and more troops, YOU DO THE OPPOSITE. There are 800- 900 foreign military bases the U.S. has around the world in a 130 countries. 20 TIMES MORE BASES THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD COMBINED. END THOSE BASES, CLOSE THEM DOWN”.

Suzanne Ross who survived the Nazi Holocaust, for Justice for Mumia Abu Jamal spoke up for the Central Park 5. Back in 1989 Donald Trump took out a full page ad in the NY Times calling for the death penalty for the 5 youths convicted in the Central Park jogger case. Why didn’t he do that to apologize when they were Exonerated? “HE WAS ANNOUNCING AT THAT TIME THAT BLACK LIVES DON’T MATTER. That’s what he was fighting for and Thank God he was not able to do it and those 5 brothers were exonerated because they were INNOCENT. And TRUMP WANTED THEM KILLED. When Suzanne Ross visited Mumia Abu Jamal he told her “That’s how Hitler started, He sounded like a fool and he was Elected”. “NEVER AGAIN, Never again for anyone, not just for Jews, Muslims, immigrants but All oppressed people”.

Mauri Saalakhan of The Peace Thru Justice Foundation spoke. People called his name from the crowd. Mauri greeted the crowd with a few words in Arabic and then wished Muslims and non Muslims Peace. “The late Senator Jay William Fulbright, a man who held the distinction of having held the powerful Senate Foreign relations committee chair longer than any other Senator at that time, he wrote a book when he left office, The Arrogance of Power, he described 2 America’s. We’ve been seeing far too long the ugly America. It’s the America that puts the better America at Risk. It is not just about Muslims, it’s not just about minorities, it’s about a country that trumpets itself around the world as the land of liberty and justice for all. This Mythical land that has yet to come into existence fully. So, your presence here today is very important, to make a statement, that We are in Favor of the Better America”.

Tony Murphy of the International Action Center said, “We’re here today to counter the racist mobilization that Trump and the Corporate media are promoting right now. They’re responsible for the fact that many Muslims don’t even feel safe leaving their own house. We made a proposal today to make NY no only a No Trump Zone but, a No Racist Zone.
