The Democrat brand and the liberal mainstream media suffered irreparable harm over the course of President Obama’s two terms. Democrats lost 900+ state legislature seats, 12 governorships, 69 House seats, and 13 Senate seats. President Obama destroyed the Democratic Party, setting them back 100 years, and given his massive failures that makes perfect sense.

The day Donald Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States there was another major defeat; it was the day journalism died. The only folks who lost bigger than the Democrats on Election Day was the liberal mainstream media.

Democrats and the liberal mainstream media needed a brand-saving narrative. What narrative could be spun that would salvage the Democrat brand and simultaneously destroy Trump? After all, we live in the age of narratives, where propagandized story-lines, not facts, matter.

The narrative: Russia hacked the 2016 election; Trump and his associates were in on it.  The Clinton Campaign with the help of the liberal mainstream media blamed Russia for rigging the election – explaining Hillary’s historic loss – and for good measure added in that they had done so in collusion with Trump and his associates, who they now, as a consequence, owned.  Kill two birds with one stone.

Developing this narrative and getting the American people to buy it would require an aggressive abuse of power, especially without a shred of evidence that it happened. It certainly could not be accomplished without a corrupt and complicit liberal mainstream media.

Resurrecting a tainted brand is no easy feat. Just ask United Airlines. Not to mention, the Democrats had forgot what they themselves stood for and signed onto hypocrisy on a scale never seen before – locking hands with a woman who, in taking enormous bribes from Sharia regimes, condoned killing gays while paying lip service to gay marriage and rights, condoned female genital mutilation and oppression while championing women’s rights, and who, while championing the Black Lives Matter movement, fleeced the Haitians, the poorest blacks in this hemisphere, of billions in relief funds.

The Democrats along with the liberal mainstream media had nowhere to go but to declare war on President Trump.

Every day, more than 300 million impressionable Americans wake up to “breaking” news stories that are unable to be substantiated by facts or evidence from those who dare question their authenticity.  Unknown sources suggesting that something that might be bad, or not, may have happened, or may not have happened is now a daily occurrence.

Just last week the liberal mainstream media fueled the overarching Trump-Russia collusion narrative with three major breaking news stories: the accusation that President Trump shared classified and confidential information with Russia, that the firing of former FBI Director James Comey was allegedly a cover-up, and perhaps what is now becoming the largest story yet, a Comey-written memo detailing a scenario where Trump suggests Comey end the investigation against former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn.

Three stories. One theme.

The stories implode of their own weight if one reads past the headlines. Headlines may vary, but the pattern is always eerily the same; every one of these news “stories” has a striking commonality – each feeds the singular objective to undermine the current administration while promoting the narrative that President Trump and those associated with him colluded with Russia before the election. And as if that isn’t enough, now that Trump has taken office, the threat to our national security and individual liberties resulting from such continued collusion, according to the conspiracy theorists that vilify him, is magnified.

About the existence of a threat, the left are one hundred percent correct. However, it is not President Trump who represents the danger, though that is what the left would have us believe.

Never before in American history has our security, freedom, and democracy been at stake like it is today. But it isn’t happening at the direction of President Trump nor does it have anything at all to do with the Russians.

Ironically, the Democrats in collusion with the liberal mainstream media have deeply threatened our democracy.  After ten months of investigating there’s no evidence, whatsoever, of Trump or any of his associates colluding with Russians on alleged election interference.

If the Democrats and liberal mainstream media want to preserve democracy as they claim to, they must accept the election results instead of pushing baseless conspiracy theories.  It is time for the witch hunt to end.  They should take the advice of President Obama when he said to Republican Whip, Eric Cantor, on January 23rd, 2009, “Elections have consequences, and at the end of the day, I won.”
