The protestors in Myanmar calling for an end to the military junta that seized power from a democratically elected government last February are a persistent lot. From one idea to the other they have create themes for their protesters and banded together to bury their dead. These protesters have now decided to name the ousted government as the country’s shadow government as they continue their movement to kick out the military rulers in Naypyitaw. Deutsche Welle had this interesting development. Here is an excerpt:
A Myanmar council of ousted lawmakers announced on Friday they are forming a “National Unity Government,” including anti-coup activists and ethnic minorities, to restore democracy.
Political leaders and deposed members of parliament have been trying to organize to regain power from the military since the February 1 coup pushed Myanmar into turmoil.
The National Unity Government is an upgrade from what had been called the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH).
