Takoma Park lowers voting age to 16

One of the perks of turning 18 is that you finally get to vote. If you live in one Maryland town, though, you no longer have to wait that long. Takoma Park has opted to lower the voting age for city elections to 16. The Takoma Park City Council on Monday voted 6-1 to allow 16- and 17-year-olds to vote.
