The increasing number of women running for 2018 midterm election is drawing a lot of attention. Men have dominated politics in America from the founding of the country. Male domination of Congress wasn’t broken until Jeannette Rankin, a Republican from Montana, entered the House of Representatives in 1917.
At this point, there have been approximately 313 women that have served in just the U.S House of Representatives since then and the number increases every year. Women’s opinions need to be heard so they can better connect with citizens in all aspects of life. Recent successes have empowered women drastically but until they actually get a chance to make change, the U.S will never know what has been swept under the carpet. Let’s hope they win!
