Confidence in American democracy is at an all-time low. This comes after four tumultuous years under Donald Trump which ended very badly as the former President’s supporters, arguably ordered by him, attempted an insurrection by attacking The Capitol on January 6, 2021. However, an article by Sean Illing published by VOX presents the case for optimism about American democracy. Here is an excerpt:

Democracy panic is its own genre of journalism at this point, and for good reasons. After the last five years, it’s impossible not to worry about the future of democracy, not just in the US but across the globe.
