Ahh, politicians. Big business. Television. Hollywood. Magazines. Media. The porn industry. (Insert other forms of distraction from government activity here).
They’ll fix the problem! They’re job creators! They’re magical wizards who will wave their money wands for us if only we pay them first. Those who are manipulated into voting against their own interests (which is quite a large amount of people, unfortunately) tell us not to punish success, to just give more and more of our hard-earned money to the very people who brought us into this mess in the first place. But, as every logical person should realize, giving more money to those who clearly do not have an interest in putting it back into society is not a solution.
Throwing money at a problem doesn’t fix the problem or make it go away, as time as shown over and over again. What this country and this world needs is change. Let us rid ourselves of a media that lies and spreads misinformation to begin with! The popular TV news channels are meant to confuse people, mislead them, and drive them apart based on political affiliation, race, class, gender, and sexuality.
Mark Twain once said, “It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.” This is because people don’t want to believe that their government would lie and work against them. It’s not too far-fetched to be afraid; in fact, it makes a lot of sense. They have money, power, and guns. But we have something that money can’t buy, that power can’t suppress, and that guns can’t kill: an idea.
The one thing they haven’t figured out how to extract from us yet is our thoughts, our capability to critically examine the actions of our elected leaders and our fellow man, to notice there is a major problem with the distribution of wealth and equality in this world, and to have the courage to stand up and question those who believe they can use the world to satisfy their selfish ends. To be more specific, I have outlined below the main goals, featured on our Facebook page, of a new organization: The Awareness Project.
The main platforms of the Awareness Project include exposing the use of television and the mass media as a hypnosis tool to hide the fact that only a few big corporations own most of the information and services provided for the American people. Politicians receive money from these corporations to work for their benefit, which is against the economic, social, and political benefit of the general population. This practice is defined by political experts as fascism. This leads directly into our next problem: the rise of the global super rich. These people often benefit from loopholes in our corporate tax system, such as getting away with paying a much smaller (or none at all) amount of taxes than the average American household.
We will also be examining the alteration and elimination of basic constitutional rights through various acts and laws introduced by the government protecting interests outside those of whom they were elected to serve, such as bills that legalized unwarranted military detainment and bills being introduced to attempt to eliminate the citizen’s right to own guns. Furthermore, we will examine the reasons why we believe America had been at war every 20- to- 40 years in its short history as a united nation. Business ventures and profit can be blamed as a large part of the reason for both these anomalies.
As a vital part of our aims, we must discuss America’s relationship with the rest of the world—particularly with the Middle East and China. We are hugely indebted to China, and the negative effects of this are mostly taxed to the common people of this country, while the rich continue to profit off of the dying middle class.
As many people are well aware, our relations with the Middle East have gone from bad to worse in the past decade. However, we are still very dependent on them for oil, making it seem like a very strategic move for the invasion of the Middle East for its resource at the cost of American military personnel. This too will be examined in full and the surmounting evidence will once more uncover the unsavory matrimony of government and big business, with the fat cat oil tycoons in particular.
Lastly, as co-founder Alvaro and myself are both artists by nature and at heart, we firmly believe in the power and significance of the artistic movement being involved with our purpose. We will always welcome, with open arms, any pieces of literature, music, drawings, paintings, and graphic designs to further engage the awareness of the general public. As Gandhi once said, we are committed to becoming the change we wish to see in the world, and we urge everyone to do the same.

I agree with the Awareness Project’s assessment of how things are, and what needs to be looked at.
I note that the platform of the Green Party of the United States (GPUS)can be seen to be in agreement with the Awareness Project’s perspective.
Why do I mention a political party?
Because though we all agree on what’s wrong, with the media, and with our corrupt and bought Republocrat politicians and their rich-favoring policies–The important thing is: What can we actually do about it now?
Here is what we can do. It’s easy:
Vote for a the candidates of a party that offers a policy platform that addrresses these concerns. A platform that would fix the wrongs that we all agree about.
Lest you think that it’s crassly promotional to recommend a political party, a discussion of our concerns will get us nowhere and accomplish nothing unless it is accompanied by a specific suggestion of what to do.
So I’m suggesting what to do. Read some party platforms. In particular, I suggest reading the platform of the GPUS. If a party platform addresses your concerns, would fix the worst wrongs, would make the America that you’d like, then vote for that party’s candidates in the next election.
As I’ve said before, with our Plurality (Vote-For-1) voting system, when there are unacceptable candidates who could win, your best strategy is to vote for the most winnable acceptable candidate.
If you agree with the Awareness Project’s assessment (as do I) then the candidate of the Green Party of the U.S. (GPUS)is the most winnable acceptable candidate.
So what can we do? We can vote Green in the next election, and every subsequent election.
The exciting thing is that improvement could come _immediately_, if everyone knew what the parties were offering (knew that by reading some party-platforms), and voted for what they actually want (instead of for a pessimistic, cynical, resigned lesser-evil).
Vote optimistically! If everyone votes optimistically, for what they actually want, you might just be surprised. We might get improvement immediately, in the next election.

Michael, thank you for the support. It makes myself and co-founder Al very happy that there are intelligent people out there to recognize the importance of our message.
I agree with your pragmatic message of action. We can talk about everything that is going wrong with this country but it doesn’t do much good if we don’t act on it in a way that will benefit the citizens of this country. We are all about people questioning the actions of our political leaders and taking peaceful action if they see something that they dislike.
Again, thanks and be sure to like us on FB.
Peace and love,
D
