Friday October 11, 2019, at a rally, in Louisiana, President Donald Trump pursued his lambasting of the Democrat-led impeachment inquiry. Trump said at the rally that Democrats are pursuing an “illegal, invalid and unconstitutional bullshit impeachment,” a language that rehashes the problem of his public expletives.
Vox reported that “Trump went to Louisiana to stump for local Republicans… [but]… ended up attacking national Democrats instead.”At the rally held at Lake Charles, it was principally about campaigning for Republican gubernatorial candidates, U.S. Rep. Ralph Abraham and businessman Eddie Rispone – over incumbent Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards.
However, Trump quickly focused on the impeachment inquiry going on to target its advocates, particularly House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif). Huffpost reported that Trump also did not fail to trash the media and the Bidens at the rally. According to Huffpost,
“House Democrats have opened an impeachment inquiry over Trump’s dealings with Ukraine, in which he asked that country’s president during a telephone call in July to investigate Biden. An intelligence community whistleblower complained that Trump was abusing his office for personal political gain… Trump insists he didn’t do anything wrong and has called the conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy “perfect”.”
Beyond these issues, Trump also addressed China and the 2020 fight. Greg Hilburn, of the Lafayette Daily Advertiser has five takeaways from the rally.
