Trump Re-Election Paperwork Was Filed Unusually Early

Trump Re-Election Paperwork
President of the United States Donald J. Trump at CPAC 2017 February 24th 2017 by Michael Vadon

It turns out Donald Trump filed the the necessary Trump re-election paperwork for a 2020 candidacy with Federal Elections Commission as early as 01 February 2017. But is this tied in anyway to Robert Mueller’s ongoing Special Counsel investigation of Russian election interference?

The Trump re-election paperwork filing isn’t a formal announcement of his candidacy but Trump has yet to say anything to discourage anyone from assuming this will be the case eventually. Rachael Revesz of Independent News released more information about Trump’s early filing today and offered a review of the latest details. Revesz makes a point to describe the filing as unusual and even as a possible motive tied to allegations by some that Trump has and continues to receive illegal election donations from foreign entities.

See the full story by Independent News here. The timing of the filing is a bit suspect for those looking for evidence of wrongdoing because it relates to the question of whether campaign funds were being raised in troubling ways. Revesz quotes analyst Jonatan Zunger as saying:

“Given that a sizable fraction of the campaign funds from the previous cycle were paid directly to the Trump Organisation in exchange for building leases, etc., at inflated rates, you can assume that those campaign coffers are a mechanism by which US nationals can easily give cash bribes directly to Trump. Non-US nationals can, of course, continue to use Trump’s hotels and other businesses as a way to funnel money to him.”

The Mueller investigation cloud and other corruption scandals are, perhaps unsurprisingly, still a remaining threat to any re-election for Trump. He could be impeached first. From day one of his first term in 2017, many predicted Trump would be impeached before the end of his first term. Yet, when all is said and done, as it sits today, Donald Trump is going to run for President again in 2020. Here’s the proof.
