Trump has posted several tweets in the past that required fact-checking. For the first time, twitter, that has made exception on several of his tweets, decided to add a fact checking tag/link to his recent tweet about mail-in voting.

This sent Trump reeling in anger. He then threatened to regulate social media.

Press freedom and freedom of speech are protected by the American Bill of Rights. The propagation of false rumour and unfounded information is also unlawful.

Trump’s reaction reflects that of dictators like Putin and is unbecoming of an American leader.
