‘Hundreds of thousands’ join Fatah rally in Gaza

AFP – Hundreds of thousands of supporters of Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas’s Fatah party on Friday held a mass rally in Gaza, their first since Hamas seized control of the territory in 2007. “Victory is near and we will meet you in Gaza in the near future,” Abbas said in a short speech from his West Bank office.

Majority of Israelis ‘support Palestinian state’

A slender majority of Israelis support the creation of a separate Palestinian state, but do not have high hopes for a peace deal, a survey said on Friday. The survey by daily Israel Hayom asked more than 800 Israelis “do you support or oppose the idea of two states for two peoples.
