Civic engagement platform and voter registration app available at Apple App Store and on Google Play
From Hear My Voice:
Civic engagement platform, Hear My Voice, debuts its new smartphone application today that aims to combat the low voter turnout crisis. Now Americans living in states with vote-by-mail rules can register to vote within a mobile app. The Hear My Voice app texts or emails users reminders about upcoming elections and registration deadlines at the state and national levels. With its easy-to-use interface and streamlined voter registration process, Hear My Voice becomes the most convenient way to register to vote ahead of the upcoming general election.
“Sixty percent of eligible voters do not vote,” asserts Becky Kip, Founder of Hear My Voice. “That’s not democracy. That’s not making our voices heard. Registering to vote and accessing nonpartisan political information should be as simple as ordering a coffee on your phone. The Hear My Voice app puts democracy back in the hands of the people – literally.”
Kip realized the need for an unbiased civic engagement platform after years as a media executive in television and radio. “I witnessed firsthand how political news stories are pieced together,” continues Kip. “We’re only given one side of a story. We’re disillusioned by this bias, so we tend to disengage from politics altogether. There needs to be a convenient alternative to mainstream news media.”
Designed to be an inclusive platform for political and voter information, Hear My Voice educates users on upcoming bills and political issues with side-by-side comparisons in a neutral, nonpartisan space. Further, the app makes it easy to take meaningful action by emailing or calling your representatives, securely donating to organizations and, of course, registering to vote.
