The Daily Show hosted by comedian Trevor Noah held a discussion on October 8th with Carol Anderson, Chair of African American Studies at Emory University. The discussion focused on her recent book titled, “One Person, No Vote: How Voter Suppression Is Destroying Our Democracy”.
Recently published, her book takes a close look at the legal history of the meaning of “one person, one vote” in America. While voter suppression and voter purges have undermined democracy in America from the start, things have gotten worse since the Supreme Court’s infamous Shelby County v. Holder ruling in 2013.
