As we move closer to November, we need to keep talking about what it looks like to vote during a pandemic. To keep millions of people safe amid an historic election, many are looking to mail-in ballots.
The Trump Administration has been attacking the United States Postal Service and the use of mail-in ballots for the election. On Monday, the President tweeted that the postal service “could never handle the Traffic of Mail-In Votes without preparation.” The USPS responded saying it is ready.
But for an election where mail-in ballots will be used, most likely more than any time in history, the Trump Administration has not necessarily been preparing accordingly. Last week, the Postal workers’ union has said that recent moves within the Postal Service amid the pandemic, have drastically slowed down and limited the service.
