New Americans Elect Program Reform in the United States

Failure to Reach Targets Led to Project Cancellation But New Americans Elect Program Prepared

Democracy, elections and voting at Democracy Chronicles

Political change that is BIG enough to fill American’s heart of hearts!

America’s voter electorate has been doing the same thing – voting against whichever is the incumbent duopoly political party… intent to “change” Politics-as-Usual (PU)… expecting different results!

“We cannot solve problems using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

— Albert Einstein

The vision of Americans Elect was selecting a Presidential candidate to deliver “change”. Many thousands of registered voters signed nomination petitions, as a contract, to achieve Independent political change. However, AE was unable (because of their own self imposed rules) to identify, even one, “approved” AE Presidential candidate. http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/americans-elect-turns-out-to-be-a-failure/

This Americans Elect candidate selection stalemate MUST be resolved. The Americans Elect Presidential candidates and Delegates AND all Americans Elect petition signatory voters MUST achieve a US Presidential election positive accomplishment from their participatory Americans Elect voter signature collecting effort.

Here is Why, How and Now for America to decisively turn toward, return to, our government: “of the people”.

WHY: The 1992 US Presidential election demonstrated that one Independent candidate could win 19% of the popular vote, but not even one state’s Electoral College Vote. The 2000 US Presidential election demonstrated that voters in just one state CAN prevent the intransigent duopoly political parties from outright winning 270 Electoral College Votes.

HOW: It is proposed that there be 50 US President and 50 Vice-President “Native/Favorite Son” candidates from each of the 50 states. The strength of this is that Native/Favorite Son candidates would have the best chance to win a significant percentage of the popular vote AND even several could win the Electoral College Votes in their state.

NOW: Come November 2012 election, in every state with “Native/Favorite Son” US Presidential candidates, there is the solid potential that the duopoly political party candidates will not achieve the 270 required Electoral College Votes to outright win on election night… resulting that the US Congress must select who will be the 45th US President.

Will the new US Representatives demonstrate collective pragmatic consensus to choose the 45th US President? This will be the benchmark test of the new 113th Congress membership that has been greatly emended by the 2010 US Census.

From the entrenched political duopoly candidate’s, there will be a 45th US President to “Win”. The other entrenched political duopoly candidate will “Place”. The 100 Americans Elect candidates will collectively “Show” can-do winning Electoral College Votes in 2012 and will become the “been-there… done that” vetting captains for an Americans Elect national Presidential champion in 2016. The future will change forever!

  1. Previous US Federal Congressional candidate with still existing campaign website.
  2. Previously achieved FEC and IRS campaign registration as an AE 2012 US Presidential candidate.
  3. Current time and dedication to campaign as a person-of-interest US Presidential candidate(s).

Proposed Americans Elect 50 US Presidential Candidates Campaign Platform:

  1. Mandate the initiative for how to achieve a positive partnership between US Executive Branch, the White House and President, and the Legislative Branch, the US Congress, US Representatives and US Senators.
  2. Drive the US Constitutional initiative to retire the Electoral College, replacing it with direct IRV popular vote.

This new Americans Elect paradigm of 50 President and 50 Vice-President candidates is a collaboration enabling construct. Such new ideas need participants and friends. It was provided to many of the political commentary critics you daily watch on TV networks, read in national newspaper editorials and the unlimited distribution of Blog opinions. However, none of them grasped the lesson of critic Anton Ego in the Ratatouille movie.

Connor Vlakancic previously met with Americans Elect, Kahlil Byrd, CEO and Elliot Ackerman, COO, and committed to create a pragmatic alternate to the original AE vision of nominating a Presidential candidate. He is a communication systems entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, California and travels extensively. He is currently in Washington, DC attending the June 19th Election Assistance Commission Roundtable.
