An Intelligent Decision: Engaging the Greens and the Progressive Democrats

The Republican Party and corporate American take over of the Democratic Party obviously is the issue. This duality has been the source of our nation’s suffering at least since 1980 and ‘the Gippers’ rise to power. We have a new clown at present that is doing his best to destroy what remains. A new group needs to emerge, namely progressive democrats and the Green Party.

I think the politicians in both groups should or could learn to work together. Maybe some prominent Democrats could even join the Green Party out of a sense of closer convictions. Whichever politician from either group that has a better chance at winning we should get behind such a candidate. We as a people should come out en masse to support the Green Party, knowing they have our back without the influence of corporate American PAC money.

In my estimation these candidates are the most reliable for our concerns. There will be places or elections where we may have to draw the line and support no one if they are not willing to work for the common good, these areas would predominantly be located in rural Republican strongholds, making a political investment in the future of that district or state for the next election. The point is it’s time to take our country back, by hook or by crook as they say. A proverb comes to mind to be as innocent as a dove and as wise as a snake.

Everyday journalists need to promote worthy candidates. These journalists may come from underground news sources. Democracy Chronicles, Midas Touch, ect. The people in the know can share such info at water coolers, PTA or PFA meetings. A concerted effort of promoting the best possible candidates in every election for the furtherance of needed life support for our great country is at hand. And the time to act is now.

We have become a dying third world nation at the present time. No concrete long term plans exist but the destruction of the average American’s way of life and future. No citizens can plot out, create or contribute to the community around them while in college debt, without insurance, and without the practical means to healthcare while living in a rotting community. The uphill battle the powerful created for us must be breached and their fortresses smashed and burned to the ground. It will take all our efforts working diligently for the common good day after day.

We must call out the ill intended efforts of the oligarchs and neocons and continue doggedly to move forward to gain ground in healthcare, education, and a social safety net towards ultimately the destruction of the billionaire class, through aggressive progressive taxation. We must rise up and demand equality as we pay our fair share of taxes while being ignored by representation and help of any kind. The order of things at present must be addressed and flipped for our country’s survival and continuance.

Too many vile and greedy powerful individuals are getting their way at our collective expense and it goes on incessantly. It’s pretty much expected at this point. Just the way it is. “No more! No more!!!”, cries the desperate and the average citizen of America. It’s time to get together to represent each other.

We all want the same things in the majority. Let’s concentrate on what we have or consider similar values and common goals. Let’s start with what we agree on and build from there. No relationship is always perfect but we can achieve something that works. Something that is fair and can give each person and their progeny a chance at a decent future or at least a place to contribute to one. Blessing the filthy rich incessantly and taking it on the nose day in and day out isn’t a way to establish a community or get civilians behind a common goal.

Our country has grown apathetic and depressed at life and a future at this point. It’s time to turn this ship around and go in the opposite direction. Christians consider such a maneuver repentant or a coming back to the light. It is to honesty or the truth, or in my book, just fair play. Treating people the way you’d like to be treated is the abridged rule book of life. If we can get together on purpose to help preserve this nation in which we love, we can save and protect the ones we care about, our family, friends and community so that we can see a tomorrow that we once again celebrate and are thankful for.

If you live in Illinois or any state in the US, try reaching out to your local Green Party members. I found them inviting, caring and passionate. Many are running for public office using their own resources. Many times you’ll experience a true grass roots demonstration of Americana combined with vintage passionate activism all being carried along with a love for country and a love for fellow citizen. You can do this, we can do this!
