On the Attitudes of Our Leaders

On the Attitudes of Our Leaders

Donald Trump Jr. standing in front of a wall of handguns with scopes is a clear threat that should not be tolerated. I understand that we have free speech but the people of our country should understand what this zealot is espousing. It’s violence if he does not get his way! That’s what I get from it.

Donald Jr. is upset that teachers don’t want to go back to work unvaccinated or without safety protocols put in place. Hey, I get the fact that our kids need classroom-style education, that is a fair political point of view. There have been almost 500,000 deaths in the U.S. alone because of Covid after all. It’s definitely good to also be looking out for the kids even while considering the interests of the teachers, I personally think that is ok.

Either way, for the ex-president’s son to go on Twitter and make this type of rant in front of guns is disturbing and the wrong message for a so-called public servant wanna be. Republican Representative Lauren Boebert also posed in front of AR15 style guns in her house during a virtual House committee hearing. I believe that these actions are reckless at a minimum and are sending the wrong message to their constituents.

There must simply be no place for physical intimidation when it comes to politics in the first place. Intimidation belongs to oligarchs, monarchs, and fascist dictators, not to elected officials in the United States of America and certainly not an ex-president’s son!

We can’t listen to or tolerate people who try to get their point across in this way. It’s the wrong message for any leader to use whether Republican, Democrat or anything else. What does it say? What is it intended to say? My way or death.

It certainly doesn’t look good to me. We as a nation need to support well-adjusted nonviolent leaders who model the virtues that we should imitate ourselves. How about the virtues of being nice, loving, even-tempered, rational, thoughtful, and compassionate? I’d start there.

We certainly don’t need a crazed shoot from the hip-style maniacal monocrat. We need to get away from this stupid tough-guy routine, that many of us have in our mind’s eye of what a political leader should look like. How about a great guy/gal who has a track record of caring for people and not being a hot head?

This strong man approach has poisoned our political landscape and country for too long. We need to convey a different message to the world for our own wellbeing and future. If we are constantly telling the world that I’ll kill you if I don’t get what I want, we may learn to regret it. Why must we continue to have to explain to our children and neighbors about our collective national disposition to this type of violent rhetoric? Let’s instead use our minds and better angels to barter, voice our opinions and persuade.

The tough guy routine has gotten old and I think from what our country has gone through already with all the mass shootings and political violence that the politicians should have a better sense when expressing their point of view. It’s common sense.

I agree. A violent attitude leads to more violence. Trump Jr. is choosing the wrong approach to lead opinions in our country.

Regarding, “Donald Trump Jr. standing in front of a wall of handguns with scopes is a clear threat that should not be tolerated.”

It’s my understanding that handguns are more a last ditch defense weapon (even with scopes). Though they can be mighty useful in house to house fighting.

That shared, if the photo you mentioned, is a “clear threat” to “strong” Democratically oriented Citizens of Our Nation, then We should consider “the threat” to be a Fair Warning and prepare Ourselves accordingly.

I think that the best response that we can leverage right now is to call out such actions in all media , as well as politically . Kevin McCarthy should call out such actions for what they are , insidious and especially hold the Republican and Democratic Parties to account for any affiliation with people who wish to persuade their point of view with intimidation ! I think Congresswoman Boebert , has already blown it in my eyes and Trump jr should never be endorsed by either party ! We should not be promoting sensationalism when it comes to guns, violence or any vile expressions of hate ! We need to hold our political figures to a higher standard of accountability! If they were a school teacher or common worker , chances are that they would lose their jobs and be discredited . We simply can’t put up with this garbage !

It seems to me that this is well said, Jack Jones. I can Think of no course but to agree with You and do my very best to comply with Your principles and suggestions. I would certainly never fire a first shot.

Quite often a “threat” is not followed by action and this abstract fact gives me the Hope and restraint that causes me to seek out non-violent ways to “settle” different ways that We Humans embrace to Live Life.

But please bear in Mind that the kind of threat that You have revealed to Us, could be a “veiled” signal to get ready to do harm to opposing Idea Systems and those that form alliances within them. But, if We are to hold the Moral High Ground held by Evolutionary Progressive Forces (which occupy the vast Democratic Common Ground between the Radical Elements of the “Left” and “Right” Polarities) We must almost never fire the first shot, or start violence. To do so opens the way for terrible waste and loss of the quality of Life that We could and should, have.

I believe You do Believe this. I write it, only to show You that I Believe it too.

Yes. There is Truth and Light in “Accountability”. Much exposure needs to be achieved and a lot of correction needs to be accomplished. May We see the day, when the best of Us occupies the chambers and rooms of Governance Leadership, that have no Doors to close and betray Us behind..

Your Good Work helps to do these things. Thank You.
