Mass demonstrations followed, with thousands of protesters imprisoned. Thousands more are fleeing to neighboring countries, crossing into the E.U. illegally. Special correspondent Simon Ostrovsky traveled to the Belarusian border to tell their stories, with support from the Pulitzer Center.
