Arab League Scams Syria People
The Saudi Kingdom is a Tightly Controlled Dictatorship

Democracy Chronicles’ perhaps most important function is be the news site that supports democracy and democracy advocates.  The article about Syria from AFP I have pasted below is an example of where things go wrong in today’s media portrayal of the Arab Spring and democracy in general.   Democracy Chronicles will be the website that is completely behind the democracy protesters and against the dictatorship in every country of the Arab Spring.

Arab League Scams Syria and Everyone

The article artfully avoids mention that the Arab League monitors sent to assess the situation in Syria are all from countries that repress their people as well.  The more repressive you are, the more you fit in with this group.  The Arab League represents mainly Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries, all countries that are led by dictatorships vying for internal power.

In case you don’t know, the Arab League’s mission to Syria, is actually led by a general from Sudan – a man whose resume includes genocide in a place called Darfur.  Syria’s dictator has been very adept at playing the Iranians, Saudis and Turks against each other.  However, we in the democratic world must be clear that this Arab League mission is a scam.

The Arab League might ask the democratic world to intervene like they did in Libya or, more likely, they will play for time. Underneath it all is the threat of the US and Iran going to war. But Syria will avoid all of these dangers when Bashar al-Assad leaves power immediately. Tunisia, Egypt and soon Libya have proven Arabs can hold free and fair elections.  Let Syria begin the democratic part of its history, forget the Arab League of Dictators, and set the country free.
