The main opposition party in Zimbabwe Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has filed a challenge to the result on Friday claiming there was a miscalculation of the votes and calls for fresh votes or a declaration that Chamisa was the winner.
This claim was dismissed by Mnangagwa’s lawyer Lewis Uriri and claims there is no evidence for direct manipulation saying the issue should be taken to court to see if the evidence is dismissible. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been forced to cancel inauguration ceremony planed for last Saturday regarding the court challenge. The Zimbabwean law says court must rule within 14 days of the filing.
