AFP – Controversial Hindu nationalist Narendra Modi secured a landslide poll victory in the Indian state of Gujarat on Thursday, firming up his chances of running for prime minister in 2014. Modi, who was in power ten years ago when the state was rocked by India’s worst religious riots since independence.
