Giant Kazakhstan dictatorship seems to be following Russia to increase repression of opposition

Kazakhstan fetes Nazarbayev under shadow of crackdown

AFP – Kazakhstan this weekend celebrates a new national holiday honouring strongman President Nursultan Nazarbayev, at a time when opposition groups are complaining of an unprecedented crackdown under the country’s first and only leader since the Soviet Union’s collapse. Saturday’s holiday will take place.
