After Netanyahu’s Reelection, We Still Need Real World Leaders

Netanyahu’s Reelection

Benjamin Netanyahu is the typical right wing leader. He pretends to be a man of peace, while willing to bring the world to the boiling point for his political gain. There has been many major changes in Israel lately thanks to Prime Minister Netanyahu but especially thanks to President Trump. Both men are using sensationalized and dangerous means to achieve their political goals.

The backing of the US for Jerusalem to become Israel’s capital and the decision to move the United States Embassy to Jerusalem, without any regard of the feelings of the Palestinians or accompanying sign of a olive branch, is stupid planning and bad press!

Not to mention President Trump has just succeeded in undermining peace in the Middle East by supporting Israel’s control of the Golan Heights days before Benjamin Netanyahu’s reelection, again without seeking any compromise in the favor of Palestine, Syria, or a two state solution. It’s just another snub and a slap in the face for the impoverished Palestinians.

If we could employ the golden rule of treating others the way you would like to be treated, our friendships as well as world peace would be secure. Today’s leaders aren’t concerned with such tribal ideologies. What’s important to them is reelection to political power and little care is taken for what gets in their way. President George W Bush pursued this type of strategy and it ended up being a tragedy in the Iraq. When will were learn that such crazy grandiose foreign military adventures are better left in the mind than reality? Not with the current crop of leadership it seems.

About Jack Jones

Jack Jones writes for Democracy Chronicles from Chicago’s south suburbs where he grew up. He is a union electrician Local 134, certified minister from Berean University, AYSO board member and coach, basketball coach, Cub Scout leader, husband, father and social participant. Jack considers himself a gourmet junk food chef, political writer, musician and likes to contribute to the world around him. A former deacon and chaplain at Cook County Jail in Chicago, he feels that our out-of-control corporate, religious and political environment is to blame for many of the problems in the world today. Jack believes we need to get money out of politics and that the church should take care of people instead of trying to get hypocrites elected to public office.

Yes great work! Fiction has got nothing on how ridiculous the truth of this world is. What a show!
