Power, Division, and the Threat of Global Conflict

Power, Division, and the Threat of Global ConflictThe best way for oligarchs to maintain their power and avoid paying taxes is to have an authoritarian or supreme leader whom the people follow out of so-called inspiration or intimidation. These leaders find scapegoats, abuse those who oppose their dictates, and often incite violence, war, and suffering. As the saying goes, “Shit rolls downhill.” The fact that NATO has been circling Russia for several years suggests that the elites have long-term goals, though not ones that bring comfort or peace.

Every country wants to be an empire, but this pursuit often leads to the downfall of those that follow this path. If the UN could wield real power through mutual peace and honest representation, the world would be a better place. However, nothing is perfect. The alignment of planets in our galaxy makes one question what’s happening. Racism, the involvement of the Evangelical church in politics, and the misogynistic movement affecting our mothers, sisters, and daughters are all common themes. The goal is to divide and conquer—an old military maneuver effective in creating divisions, confusion, and domination for the aggressor.

The truth is that countries aligning against us are becoming superior in military strength, economically, and in cooperation. Compared to the US and our allies, we are behind the eight ball. Iran, Turkey, and Russia together are formidable. Adding North Korea, India, and possibly Venezuela makes the situation even more daunting. The actions that led to the destruction of the petrodollar and the formation of this massive alliance through greed and violence could lead to World War III. I’m beginning to doubt that we’ll be on the winning side. Karma seems to be recognizing other countries’ desires to live and govern. I only hope America can act wisely and compassionately once again.

About Jack Jones

Jack Jones writes for Democracy Chronicles from Chicago’s south suburbs where he grew up. He is a union electrician Local 134, certified minister from Berean University, AYSO board member and coach, basketball coach, Cub Scout leader, husband, father and social participant. Jack considers himself a gourmet junk food chef, political writer, musician and likes to contribute to the world around him. A former deacon and chaplain at Cook County Jail in Chicago, he feels that our out-of-control corporate, religious and political environment is to blame for many of the problems in the world today. Jack believes we need to get money out of politics and that the church should take care of people instead of trying to get hypocrites elected to public office.
