Recently freed from jail, Presidential Debate With Green

Recently freed from jail, Presidential Debate With Green’s Stein pledges to ramp up fight for open debates | Democracy, elections, and voting at DC

From IVN:

IVN.us will be hosting the first ever, online presidential debate. Unlike debates in the past, the candidates and moderators will simultaneously participate from different states. IVN.us will utilize its website and associated social media accounts to publish the event and gather questions for the candidates.

The participants will include Libertarian candidate and former Governor of New Mexico, Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein. Governor Johnson will be joining from Laramie, Wyoming and Dr. Stein will join from Seattle, Washington.

IVN.us is working with Google+ Politics to host the event using a live Google+ Hangout. Each participant will appear using videoconference technology and respond to questions submitted online and from one another.

RSVP to the First Online Presidential Debate on Google+

Thursday, October 18, 2012
4pm Pacific/7pm Eastern

The online presidential debate will focus on five key topics including:

1. Tax and Economic Policy,
2. Energy,
3. Housing and Financial Regulation,
4. Foreign Policy, and
5. One topic selected based upon online user response.

IVN.us will be looking to independent-minded voters across the country to participate by submitting their questions for the candidates within each topic. Each topic will include two questions submitted using the hashtag #indyvote on Google+ and Twitter, or posting on this article.

The debate can be viewed live on October 18, 2012 beginning at 4pm Pacific on IVN.us, or on IVN.us’ Google+ and YouTube page. The event will be recorded and can be viewed at either location following the debate.

We will be tweet chatting and participating on Google+ during the debate. Follow the hashtag #indyvote on Twitter and Google+ during the debate to join the conversation, respond to the candidates, and let them know how they are doing in answering your questions.

Also from Jill Stein’s campaign:

Dr. Jill Stein will be debating the Libertarian Presidential Candidate, Gary Johnson, in the Independent Voter Network Debate. For weeks we’ve been demanding free and equal debates. But, despite historic public pressure on the Commission on Presidential Debates to open the event and let all qualified candidates speak, the doors remain closed.

We are determined to give voters a real choice at the polls by allowing them to hear from more than the Republicans and Democrats.

Join us for this online debate at 7pm EST/4pm PST to hear Stein and Johnson talk candidly about the issues that matter most to you.  We will post more information and links to the debate as the date approaches.  In the meantime, plan a viewing party with your friends and family and sign up to volunteer to get the word out about this true grassroots campaign.
