Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

I have gone on at length about the unfair injustices that are going on in elections through political contributions on the side of Corporate America. I’ve said this before but it’s worth repeating: former President Jimmy Carter said “an oligarchy with unlimited political bribery”. Some would call me a hypocrite for doing the same thing

I have donated three times to the Bernie Sanders campaign. It’s only been three dollars each time but it’s something and I hope to donate a few more shekels but the point I’m trying to make is we need to fight fire with fire! We can’t just say “man I hope Bernie wins”. We need to do something. Yes it might cost you a few bucks but you can do it! Act Blue is collecting money you can donate online it’s fast and easy, you can even donate just a dollar if that’s all you can afford.

The point is we should all get together and help financially and physically the politician of our choosing! If you don’t like the way things are going, do something about it and put your money where your mouth is! Donate! That’s what the fat cats are doing and we need to learn how to fight in this gorilla warfare political environment!

I mean we have all kinds of crazy stuff going on and crazy people doing everything from dropping tax rates on the rich to putting child refugees in metal cages. Enough is enough! It’s time to let our money go to battle for us!

It’s been said to know a person is to see what they spend their money on. Well, is there anything that you are passionate about? Then support it. Don’t let it starve – give it life by giving it fuel, power and substance! Bring your ideas into reality by financially supporting a person with the same values as you. It’s a very efficient and effective way to get your goals achieved in this world.

The Koch brothers alone have put hundreds of millions of their dollars into our elections. What will be your contribution for democracy? What influence will you have on world affairs?

It’s not just progressives in the United States that are complaining about the abuses of this administration. It’s the rest of the world! Currently most Europeans can’t believe that we voted in Trump and they are wondering: what the heck is going on over here? We as a nation are becoming very unpopular and the rest of the world is losing patience.

So yes, you’re not crazy, it’s the extreme rhetoric of the right that Trump caters to. Its his base that he’s trying to satiate – he’s basically become a modern example of a Roman emperor trying his best to hold onto power by throwing as many human victims as he can to the lions of the Coliseum for popular amusement. So if your tired as much as I am and you want change, I encourage you to do something about this. Let’s level the playing field for our guy Bernie and give him the endorsement he or whomever you want deserves!

About Jack Jones

Jack Jones writes for Democracy Chronicles from Chicago’s south suburbs where he grew up. He is a union electrician Local 134, certified minister from Berean University, AYSO board member and coach, basketball coach, Cub Scout leader, husband, father and social participant. Jack considers himself a gourmet junk food chef, political writer, musician and likes to contribute to the world around him. A former deacon and chaplain at Cook County Jail in Chicago, he feels that our out-of-control corporate, religious and political environment is to blame for many of the problems in the world today. Jack believes we need to get money out of politics and that the church should take care of people instead of trying to get hypocrites elected to public office.

Hey big spender. I see nothing wrong with grass roots giving to politicians. I gave money to Hillary (my first political donation). The Koch bros are of a different realm and not just because they’re not on our team. They’re manifestly worse because the direction of their giving actually hobbles and retards democracy.
