The fate of a bill that would mark the first overhaul of state ethics laws in two decades will be decided Tuesday by the South Carolina House of Representatives.

Besides tightening campaign-finance rules, the measure seeks to expose potential conflicts of interest by mandating that members of the General Assembly disclose all sources of public and private income. The bill also calls for creating the South Carolina Commission on Ethics Enforcement and Disclosure.
