It seems like everyday universities are altering their plans, opening up, going hybrid, or changing to completely online classes. Going back to campus this fall will look radically different. And so will voter registration. The pandemic has drastically changed how we get students registered to vote. But, all across the country, students are stepping up in the face of unprecedented challenges and creating innovative strategies to get their peers registered and vote ready.

For the third year, the Students Learn Students Vote Coalition and the Alliance for Youth Organizing are working with colleges and organizations nationwide to hold Campus Takeover events on National Voter Registration Day – an annual “civic holiday” focused on helping Americans register to vote. From Zoom parties to location-based Snapchat filters, students are showing their creativity and resilience to make sure their peers and communities are registered to vote, even in the face of our new reality.

Our coalition is proud to support the incredible work of organizations participating in Campus Takeover and share how groups are adapting to unique challenges this year.
