Syria civil war risks further spreading as International Peace Brahimi envoy warns ]clashes could set region ‘ablaze’ as violence soars on several borders

Peace envoy warns Syria clash could set region ‘ablaze’

International peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi has warned that the Syria conflict risks setting the region “ablaze”, as clashes broke out across the border with Lebanon. Even as Brahimi appeared to be winning support within Syria for a ceasefire, rebels shot down an army helicopter Wednesday while a fierce Turkey-Syria Border Tension Continues. The tension between Syria and Turkey is continuing. Reports say Turkey’s artillery struck back at Syria after a Syrian mortar bomb landed on Turkish territory.

Expert: Turkey-Syria War “Unlikely”

Despite Turkey’s tough stance, experts say the conflict between Turkey and Syria is unlikely to escalate into war.
