The Family: Wolf Kings And Religion In Politics

I watched a series on Netflix, called The Family. It wasn’t a Charles Manson program but just as interesting none the less. In this documentary, the narrator explained and chronicles his experiences as a candidate or underling. As a religious, political disciple of sorts, he and his other brothers in cause were caretakers of a property and would study the scriptures that were the favorites of this club. This organization would invite past, current and future Presidents of the United States to The National Prayer Breakfast, I believe as a way of indoctrination to their group. It looked like their chief aim was to promote their form of Christian politics through their political influences, available free housing and other resources etc.

Nothing of what this group is doing really bothers me except their ultimate goal, which is to get behind a “Wolf King” as he was described in the program. The Wolf King didn’t have to be perfect in character, he just has to get behind the Christian political objectives of the Family. My concern is whatever happened to the separation of church and state, the First Amendment? The point of this philosophy was to act as a check and balance, to keep potential self determined and appointed messiahs from garnishing ultimate control and power from the people and administering the power and authority of the United States for their own wishes and advantages.

Former Attorney General William Barr was also reportedly carrying out his politics with similar ethical goals. From what I understand, former Attorney General William Barr is a good Catholic and used to go to the same Sunday school classes with former Special Council Robert Mueller. Supposedly this is where his true allegiances lie and not chasing power alone. But according to the documentary, Barr became “the fixer” for these “Wolf Kings” who would rule the United States and ultimately the world. From what I gathered from the documentary and some follow up research, Barr believes if we get a “Wolf King” President who will get on board with the philosophies and same ambitions as this Family organization, God will bless America again and everything will be great!

My issue is Attorney Barr through his great legal maneuvering saved the necks of HW Bush and Trump when they should have ultimately been prosecuted for their crimes and has potentially set precedents that will put the next fascist leaning, American President to end. This is exactly why we need the checks and balances, of which the judiciary is a part, and ultimately comes back to the issue of separation of church and state. All I can say is if we continue to allow this egregious form of governance to continue, there will be no place to hide! And our latest examples of political power has only gotten more vile, with their crusade for assumed authority and self-righteousness.

The religious nature of President Jimmy Carter didn’t bother me, I actually liked him. For example, he was personally against abortion which most people are, nobody celebrates it, he just realized that it was a necessary problem that no one likes but allows the poor and young to obtain safe health care. He didn’t want to infringe on peoples’ freedom especially women regardless of spiritual or political opinions.

I believe as a biblical student that God let’s the sun shine on the good and the bad. We should be a people of mercy and treat each other as we would like to be treated. Then the promises of God that these men are chasing will reign in America, because we will be blessing each other with our fairness and goodwill for one another. I don’t think that common sense and acting in love ever involves a political scheme or backroom deals of a small group. Can we mortals hoodwink the “Almighty” if you will? I’m impressed with the Family’s ambition but dismayed by the actions. God, Alllah, Buddha, Paine, please help us!
