Homeless and AIDS advocate dressed as Melania Trump with this sign on the back at the Un Welcome Home Trump rally by the Intrepid yesterday. What it cost for security per day for Melania to sit in Trump Tower costs taxpayers 500k, enough to feed 100k homeless or 1,467 AIDS patients could have meds. “The 500k is an advocate of every report that I’ve seen, so it’s about a weighted average”.

Trump’s visit brought protests to Manhattan’s streets. Demonstrators gathered near the Intrepid, and were outside Trump Tower earlier that day.

DSC09868Donald Trump, the fascist in chief is returning to New York City for the first time since the inauguration to give a speech on the Intrepid, which is essentially a museum for American military conquest.

Anyone who is concerned about the destruction of planet, the attacks on immigrants, the threats of nuclear war, the attacks on LGBTQ people, the patriarchy, and all of the other dangers posed by the Trump regime came out.

Join with Rise and Resist to make this as powerful as possible! See their facebook page.

Andrew from Housing Works is outside the Intrepid ‘Not Welcoming Trump’ home to send Trump a message “That this disastrous vote on Health Care is going to destroy the lives of millions of Americans and damaging effects on NYr’s all over our city”.

Air Force One landed at Kennedy Airport just before 6:30 p.m. Trump joined Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the Intrepid Museum in Manhattan on Thursday evening. They commemorated the 75th anniversary of World War II’s Battle of the Coral Sea, when U.S. and Australian forces teamed up to fight the Japanese. Aboard the Intrepid, Trump, a Queens-native, had his first face-to-face meeting with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull since their awkward phone call back in February of this year.

Organizer with Rise And Resist was there to protest Trump’s presence and let him know that he’s not welcome in NYC.

Richard Cardillo told me from Rise and Resist, “We have to send a message Loud and Clear, that based not only on the things he’s done the first 100 days but, how he ran a campaign that he is not welcome here. A Very strong message that the way that he has governed us, the way he has led us is not indicative of what we need as a leader and WE ARE GOING TO MAKE NOISE ABOUT THAT”.

Hundreds of demonstrators lined the West Side Highway yesterday awaiting the arrival of what many feel to be Not their President, who was scheduled to speak at the Intrepid Museum yesterday with Australian Prime Minister Trumbull. The demonstrators went from 42nd streets to 45th then was blocked off by NYPD only allowing in attendees to the event to enter.

Ronald L. Kuby, a lawyer in New York City for more than 25 years ‘representing clients in some of the most high-profile criminal and civil rights actions’, told me, with people yelling and cars honking their horns in the background, why he was at the rally for Trumps fist visit back to NYC since his inauguration, “I think it’s important that the people of his hometown tell him just how much we hate what he is doing and what he says he’s going to do”. I asked Ron Kuby what he thought Trumps worst policy was and he said it was difficult to name the worse one, “I think the people hurt the most right now are immigrants and minorities, it’s hard to say who else will be hurt in the future. What’s most offensive about the man is his Ignorance, HIS IGNORANCE OF HIS OWN IGNORANCE.”

A small groups of attendees getting Boooed by the crowd of demonstrators as they entered the barricaded area to the event. Demonstrators also chanted, “SHAME, SHAME SHAME” as attendees walked by to enter the event.

Travis Morales of RefuseFascism.org yelling to the crowd in the human mic tradition of Occupy Wall Street, calling what is happening “fascism” and that “only us in our millions can stop this. Everyone within 50 miles who hates what this regime is doing cannot allow Trump to come to NYC or any place else in the country without pouring into the streets to say NO! NO! NO! We refuse, in the name of humanity, to accept a fascist America”.

More attendees walking through the walk of “Shame” to enter the event at the Intrepid.

These demonstrators yelling “Shame” at the attendees entering event. “Adam”, a demonstrator, said an attendee called out that he supports the Australian military, to which Adam replied, “Trump is your keynote speaker, their PM hates him”.

Athena Soules of Light Brigade holding up her DANGER AHEAD sign yesterday across from the Intrepid where Trump was to make his first NYC visit since being inaugurated.

As Trump’s motorcade of multiple cars, vans, ambulances and NYPD finally show up and drive north on the West Side highway on the south bound side lined with NYPD on bikes to keep distance from the “Boos” coming from the jeering crowd, many people held up their middle finger in protest.
